For families chasing serious junior tennis — USTA, UTR, ITF. Every parent already tracks their kid's patterns, progress, and tough days in their head. CourtSide makes that knowledge visible, structured, and yours — so you stop guessing and start seeing.
Live match charting
A note from the founder
I sat through too many three-hour matches and drove home with nothing but a score. So I built the system I wished I had.
My sons play competitive junior tennis. I built CourtSide because I wanted to remember why they won — not just that they did. If you're chasing serious junior tennis, this is built for you.
Pro players know every pattern. Now you will too — without needing a support team.
Chart matches in real time from your phone courtside. Four detail tiers — from a single tap per point to full shot-by-shot analysis with placement and rally length. Start simple, go deeper when you're ready.
Capture what the scoreboard doesn't — effort, compete level, enjoyment, reflections. After 50 matches, the patterns in how your player responds to wins and losses tell you more than any stat.
Track every hour on court — matches, practice, lessons, free play. Watch cumulative hours build toward development milestones from 250 to 10,000. See your player's pace projection and know exactly where they are.
Head-to-head records over time. Play styles, scouting notes, and match history against every opponent your player has faced. In junior tennis you play the same kids — that history matters.
Film a stroke, slow it to 0.25×, annotate body position and racket path, and compare side-by-side with the same stroke three months ago. See the progress between reps.
Strict guardrails first: Rally only answers about tennis, your player's data, and tournament strategy. It will not give medical, injury, mental health, or general advice. It cannot see other families' data.
CourtSide grows with you. Start by tracking scores, then add journals, training connections, and opponent scouting at your own pace.
Not every parent wants to track serve placement. Not every match needs full analysis. CourtSide's four charting tiers let you choose your depth — and switch mid-match if you want.
After every match, CourtSide prompts a simple reflection — effort, compete level, enjoyment, and an optional free-text journal. It takes 60 seconds and creates the most valuable data in the entire app.
Individual matches are noise. Development happens over months and years. CourtSide's Progress Timeline, trend analysis, and rolling averages help you see what actually matters.
Every piece of data starts private. Parents decide what to share with their coach — and can change their mind anytime.
Parents can opt in to share any of these categories with their coach. The default is private — you choose what to open up.
Some families share everything with their coach. Some keep reflections private. CourtSide gives you the control — the default just makes sure nothing is shared until you're ready.
When you bring CourtSide to your player's next huddle, your coach walks in already knowing what happened at the tournament you couldn't attend — match results, opponent history, and what to work on next.
What your coach sees
Mobile app for lesson logging and player lookup. Web portal for roster management. Invite-only launch with pilot academies.
Get early access →Academy Partnerships: If your families are already using CourtSide, we offer bulk licensing as part of your academy experience.
CourtSide stores photos and videos of your children. That responsibility shapes every technical decision we make. Expand any section below for the full picture.
Every CourtSide account requires multi-factor authentication via authenticator app. Not optional, not toggleable, not something families can skip "for convenience."
Parents create accounts with email. Every login requires a 6-digit code from an authenticator app (Google Authenticator, Authy, etc.). 30-day session expiry forces re-authentication.
Coach access launches with our pilot academies. Invite-only, with full MFA enforcement. Parents can revoke coach access instantly.
Match data, journal entries, videos, photos — everything is encrypted at rest and in transit. No public buckets, no unprotected endpoints, no shortcuts.
Row-Level Security: Your family's data is invisible to other families — not by application logic, but by database policy. Even if the application had a bug, cross-family data leaks are architecturally impossible.
COPPA requires special protections for data about children under 13. CourtSide tracks data about junior tennis players, so COPPA compliance isn't optional. It's foundational.
Rally is a tennis assistant — not a general-purpose chatbot. It's explicitly blocked from topics it has no business discussing.
| Data Category | Coach Visibility |
|---|---|
| Match scores, stats, trends | Always visible |
| Player profiles & opponent scouting | Always visible |
| Journal entries & reflections | Parent opt-in only |
| Effort / Compete / Fun ratings | Parent opt-in only |
| Expense tracking | Never visible |
| Other families' data | Never visible |
Sell your data to third parties. Run behavioral advertising. Share data with analytics companies. Use your child's information for marketing. Allow unencrypted media storage. These aren't settings you can toggle — they're architectural decisions baked into how CourtSide is built.
No free tier. No ads. No data monetization. Annual billing is the better deal — start with a 7-day trial, no card required. Founding families lock in their rate, held for two years.
Pilot Academy Partners
Part of a pilot academy? You get full access free.
Ask your coach for your academy access code. Pilot families get full Elite-tier access at no cost through the pilot period — then lock in your founding rate (held two years) when you're ready.
Multiple players? Add additional kids at $8/mo each. Annual billing saves ~25% over monthly.
Security is foundational, not optional — especially because CourtSide stores photos and videos of your children. Every login requires authenticator-app verification (MFA). All media is encrypted at rest and in transit. Videos and photos are stored in private buckets with short-lived access links — there are no persistent URLs to your family's content. We're COPPA-compliant from day one, we never sell or share your data, and we never serve ads. Reflections are private by default — only shared with your coach if you choose to opt in.
Not unless you choose to share it. Journals, reflections, effort/compete/fun ratings, and tournament daily reflections are all private by default. As a parent, you can opt in to share any category with your coach — and turn it off anytime. You're in control.
Not at all. Start with Score + Notes — just tap who won each point. That's it. You can layer in more detailed charting as you get comfortable. The journal and development features don't require any tennis knowledge.
One subscription covers your entire family. Each player has their own profile, match history, opponents, training blocks, and journals — all completely separate. Switch between players with a tap. Additional players are $8/mo each.
Use Quick Match to log a match after the fact — enter the score, opponent, and a quick journal note. Or have your player use the Player Match Log to self-report. Not every match needs live charting.
Our Philosophy
CourtSide exists to help families keep their eyes forward and their footing steady. In a sport filled with emotion, noise, and constant judgment, we believe parents serve their children best by choosing clarity over reaction and patience over pressure.
"Let your eyes look directly forward, and your gaze be straight before you.
Ponder the path of your feet; then all your ways will be sure."
Proverbs 4:25-26
